I'm sure many of you are already aware, but our lovely FoS is in the process of undergoing a transfer of ownership to the wonderful users Sorika and TwistedBeauty.

The site should be up and running while this happens, so we will keep everyone apprised of our progress.

I'm grateful to the support everyone has shown for FoS (and me by extension). It's been a rough couple years, but things are finally looking up. And I am extremely happy that FoS and our members will be taken care of for the future.

Monica here.

I would like to remind everyone to please submit one chapter of the same story at a time. Since we get lots of submissions daily and there's only a handful of us each and every day reading through and validating; we can get overwhelmed. It's important that we keep traffic at a minimum and I know it's frustrating that you want to get ALL of your chapters uploaded but we simply cannot work that fast. So please, please submit only one chapter of a story you would like updated. We say this because there's a chance that if your story was rejected, and your second submitted chapter looked the same as the first, you will NOT get another rejection letter.

Also, another thing--If you haven't seen your chapter validated, please check your EMAIL for a rejection letter notice. Check your SPAM, too, just in case. Admins and Mods are required to give you a reason why your chapter was rejected and some of the most common reasons are your chapters are showing up as one big block of text. So make sure you guys use the preview function to make sure your chapters look all neat and tidy. :)

Ah puh puh... *Taps her chin* I think that's all. Thanks again for the support you guys have been giving us and for the patience you have shown throughout our tough times. We appreciate it and we will continue to try to keep FoS-FF afloat! *Salutes* :D

If some of you guys are having trouble trying to get into your account, such as forgetting your password and that you're not getting a new email sent to you resetting your password, please contact me through FORUM PM. My forum name is One Night Carnival. Just send me a message with your penname and telling me that you need your password reset. I will change your password for you and send you the temp. for which you will log in through. After you've successfully logged in, do NOT forget to change your password. I've heard we've been having trouble with our Contact Us form so until that gets fixed, please send any and all complaints, questions, etc to me through Forum PM.

This has been said before but this site only supports ENGLISH (and Spanish) written fanfiction. It is one of the written rules on the Rules page:

IV. 2-16-08 Unfortunately we now only allow stories written in English or Spanish, as those are the only ones our staff understand. No stories previously added before the staff change in the other languages will be removed.

So any stories containing anything other than English/Spanish in their stories will be deleted and/or not validated. This goes for the majority of the Hetalia fanfiction I've been seeing with some of the character's native languages being used. If our site supported it, I'd gladly allow it but sadly, it doesn't. It just turns out one jumbled sentence with symbols and... such. So please refrain from using anything other than English and Spanish when writing. Thank you.

In following what Lunaescence has recently announced fos-ff will be doing the same, a clean sweep of the Harry Potter category for Adult fan fiction, also known as the NC-17 rating. We do understand that this can be upsetting; however, we do wish to comply with JK Rowling’s wishes. Yes, her announcement is not new in the slightest, however it is in her right to request that her characters be shown in the most respectable light possible. Myself and the mod’s will be going through this next month or so to look over the category and contact all authors that have works subject to deletion. By the end of this month period all stories that still have explicit sexual content will be deleted without notice. Again, we’re sorry for the inconvenience. Any and all questions can be either commented here, on our facebook page, or directly to one of us.

Edit: This issue has been addressed multiple times. Although I hate repeating myself, I'm afraid I have to continue repeating myself until the message is finally clear. Please do not submit multiple chapters of a story at a single time. OTHERWISE THE EXTRA CHAPTERS WILL BE DELETED WITH NO REJECTION NOTICE. Again, DO NOT SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE CHAPTER OF A SINGLE STORY OR YOUR EXTRA CHAPTERS WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT A REJECTION NOTICE. SUBMITTING MULTIPLE CHAPTERS IS NOT ALLOWED.

I honestly do not know how else I can make this clear. This is quite possibly the thousandth time this request has been issued and it is bothersome for the admins and mods who validated stories; especially if the extra chapters don't comply with site rules and have to be cut. Again, Multiple chapters being submitted for one story will not be tolerated and will be deleted immediately. WAIT until you see that the first chapter you have submitted was validated before you go on and upload more chapters for your story.

As you may have noticed, we were unexpectedly suspended by our hosting provider. This was due to our standard e-mail messages being marked as spam. This is the second time this has happened, and I hope it will be the last.

Please, if you are signed up for author or story updates, make sure you add the e-mail Admin@fos-ff.net to your contacts. This will help ensure that our messages make it to your inbox instead of your spam folder and that FOS-FF stays running.

Be aware that the e-mail is now Admin@fos-ff.net. Since the e-mail has been changed, along with the server we use, please let us know of any issues, like if you stop receiving updates or something. I realize the Contact Us form is still not working, so make sure you know our e-mail address.

And I am still working on all of the bugs that seem to be randomly popping up around here.

Greetings, everyone at Freedom of Speech Fanfiction.

I have a small favor to ask the members of the FOS-FF community, if you wouldn't mind as to help us with this task. I'm compiling a list of errors around the site, each and every one, in hopes of actually getting them fixed around here. Now, I can't promise anything but I would appreciate all the help I can get. I would like anybody and everybody, in the comments below, to bring to light any of the errors you may have run into while using the archive. And I do not mean the FATAL ERROR message that occasionally pops up. We are all well aware of that one. I am looking for things such as, being unable to delete a story for whatever reason, or being unable to edit a story for whatever reason. Anything from errors within the categories not showing up correctly and the like. Again, you can post them down below and I'll have them compiled in a big list to give to Idaten since she happened to ask. Your help is very much appreciated. I thank you for your patience and your time.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Everyone!

Please allow me the honor of wishing all of you darling members a holly, jolly holiday on behalf of all the Staff! Here's to hoping all of you enjoy your time spent either alone or with family; and here's to hoping Santa brings you plenty of joy, happiness--And presents of course! Personally, it warms my heart to be apart of such a wonderful community of such talented writers and warmhearted readers. Forgive me for being so sappy-happy but I simply want to make sure everyone, and I do mean everyone, has a little holiday cheer this year. For no one should celebrate any holiday without a smile! However, before I send all of you along on your merry way, there are a few things I would like to address!

For starters, I would like to ask everyone to please review the Rules and Terms of Service just as a refresher for the new year! To start us all off on the right foot. Also, there are a few rules that have come to my attention that I would like to remind everyone about right here--

1) Please do not submit multiple chapters of the same story at one time to be validated. I cannot stress this rule enough. We've said it time and time again and yet, without fail, we continue to have this problem. I'd like this to be the last time it has to be repeated.

2) Keep your titles plain, as in, no symbols or anything of the sort in them. They are only titles, not artwork. These are some examples: ".h.e.l.l.o." "|Love|+|Me|" "~Forever~". Basically, no decorative titles please. I've only seen this a handful of times recently but it still needs to be said; it's a rule, after all.

3) Please check your HTML. We want to be sure you aren't going overboard with the tags. By that, we are making sure all of your chapters are not just one big lump of bold, italic, or any of the like. Please also check and make sure your tags are always closed off.

4) Please check your formatting when submitting. Your story should not be one large block of text. Nor should it be entirely align to center or right. On that note as well, it should not come only a third of the way across the page, which is poem format, unless it IS a poem. Spacing is not a difficult thing to watch for.

All of us on the Staff appreciate all of you cooperating and adhering to the rules. We really do have a lovely community here and I for one am very thankful to Idaten for getting the main site and Forum back up and running. I'm thankful to the Admins and Mods who work so hard every day to keep up on validating and keeping the site running. But at the same time, I'm thankful to all of you lovely members for giving all of us a community to return to. We are nothing without our members; so this Christmas and Holiday season, smile and know Muffin-Chan is sending her love and thanks your way! And with that, I will send you one last holiday wish in hopes you all have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Hello, members.

I sincerely apologize for the many, many months' delay, but FoS is officially back up and running! :D

There was a major problem with a hacker who'd been sending spam messages from our account, which led to FoS being suspended by our hosting provider. Due to my own personal troubles, the situation wasn't able to be resolved until today, but I guess it's better late than never, right?

I will send out an e-mail that will hopefully reach all of the members in order to spread the word that FoS is back up. Edit: It seems like the e-mail isn't going through, so we're going to have to rely on word of mouth.

Now, there may be some changes coming up in the near future, but we'll approach that when the time comes.

I was in contact with our host's support guys for a while, and hopefully resolved the fatalerror_notconnected problem. If you happen to see it again, please let me know.
